THREE POETS READING

at

THE SANTA BARBARA POETRY SERIES

PHIL TAGGART poet and publisher, was co-founder in 1998 of The Santa Barbara Poetry Series. His book of poems, Opium Wars, is published by Mille Grazie Press, and he is co-editor with Marsha de la O of the nationally recognized poetry journal, Askew. Phil received the Ventura Mayor’s Art Award for his poetry, photography and video work.

 

MARSHA DE LA O received both the New Issues Press Poetry Prize from Western Michigan University, and a Small Press Editor’s Choice Award for her book of poetry, Black Hope.  Marsha was a recent finalist in the Poets and Writers’ California Voices competition. She is also winner of the dA Poetry Award and also the Ventura Poetry Festival Contest.

 

MELINDA PALACIO  will be reading from her book of poetry, Folsum Lockdown, the 2009 winner of the Kulup Press’s Sense of Place Chapbook contest. Melinda is a 2007 PEN Center USA Emerging Voices Rosenthal Fellow. Her first novel, Ocotillo Dreams, will be published by Arizona State University’s Bilingual Press in Fall 2010. She is co-editor of Inkbyte, an online magazine for and about writers.
